Family Vacation

Roger and I took 4 of our children on a Cruise through the Caribbean-- Nov. 28, 2009 - Dec. 5, 2009. Below this post are some highlights from our Trip. It was really nice to have some quality time with our children...giving them our full attention!

Where's Spencer-

There was food available 24/7 on the Ship. Whenever we couldn't find Spencer, we would go up to the Buffet and find him sitting by himself with a plate full of food. This happened so many times that it became one of our favorite topics to laugh about!

Ouch!

Tanner found a ping-pong ball in the pool and threw it at Spencer. It left a welt on his back. It was actually funny... but Spencer didn't think so.

Magen's Bay, St. Thomas

Great Stirrup Cay

The last Island we visited was Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas. It was another fun filled day with snorkeling, sand castles, and lime smoothies!

Back on the Ship

Megan never did get her Sea Legs...

Swimming Pools and Water Slides-

On board the Ship, the boys enjoyed the swimming pools and water slides!

Fun In The Sun!

Virgin Gorda Beach on Tortola, British Virgin Islands. Megan didn't take to snorkeling very well. The boys, however, spent most of the afternoon belly down!

"The Baths"

We hiked through the "Baths" in Virgin Gorda, on the Island of Tortla. The Baths are rock caves that fill up with water. The kids insisted on wearing shoes and socks... they quickly realized that that was a mistake and ended up carrying them to the Virgin Gorda Beach.

Dillon's New Friend

There are dogs EVERYWHERE in the Dominican Republic! Most of which are not healthy and in a very poor state. During our visit to one of the villages this Dog took a liking to Dillon. He tried feeding the dog some candy but found that she didn't like it. She did, however, like the coconut and mango samples that he was given.

Samana

Dominican Republic- Samana is a place that will make you feel blessed. Although happy, the people of Samana, opposite side of the mountain in Fiji, is very poor. The village that we visited relies upon tourists for their income. Megan is being escorted by one of the local girls, hand in hand, to a waterfall. After arriving, the girl expected to be paid. We bought a large bag of "Smarties" in Miami and distributed candy to the children that we passed while riding in our shuttle van.

Onboard Fun!

The kids were never bored on the ship! Rock climbing, swimming, water slide, bowling, a 2 story WII screen, and all you can eat Ice Cream! What more do you need?

Sea Sick

Poor Megan... Megan quickly realized that she doesn't have Sea Legs. She spent most days on the boat with her head down and praying we get to land soon.

Unlimited!

We hadn't even left port... Tanner and Spencer don't waist any time getting the unlimited supply of food and soda.

All Aboard

On board the Norwegian Pearl

Much Needed R & R

Caribbean...here we come!

Denver Airport waiting to fly to Miami for some much needed Rest & Relaxation in the Caribbean! This trip has been planned for months and the day has finally arrived. And...despite the close proximity, no one is fighting.

Go BYU!

Megan is showing her school spirit at a BYU Football game. Although she attends BYU, she claims to be a U of U fan. (if she keeps that up she will be taken out of the Will)

BYU ROCKS!

Book Worm

Post Curls
Dillon loves to read and he reads FAST! He would sit on the couch and read all day long if I let him. Dillon is VERY smart scoring a 31 on his ACT- he inherited his intelligence from his mom ;0)

Our Wrestling Champ

Tanner finished the 2008 Wrestling Season as the #2 guy in his weight class- 85 lbs- 8th grade. His team took 1st place in the DCC Invitational

YOUR OUT!

Anyone that knows Tanner knows that he loves to play all Sports! Here Tanner is catching the ball and getting his opponent OUT!

Keeping Eyes Open

Nikolai finds it an impossible task to keep his eyes open while getting his picture taken. It take at least 20 shots to finally get one with Nikolai's eyes open. In this picture Nikolai is making sure his eye are open. lol

Atomic Wedgie

"Atomic Wedgie"

2006

Roger missed his graduation from Colorado School of Mines, earning a Masters in Mineral Economics, to come with me to St. George Utah for a Family wedding. He reminds me of that on a regular basis.

Brother & Sister

Megan and Dillon were on the Year Book staff at Pine Creek High School. This picture was taken for the year book. Megan is riding piggy back.

Dixie & Chloe

2001 During a visit to St. George, my sister, Patty, asked if I wanted to go with her to the pet store to buy some fish food. Not knowing what I would find there, I said yes. I only took 5 steps inside the store and there in a box was this tiny, white poodle. I asked to hold the puppy and she snuggled into my neck. I couldn't put her back in the box. My next dilemma was breaking the news to Roger that I bought another dog. I chose not to tell him... I flew home with "Dixie" in my purse and carried her off the plane awaiting Roger's response. After his initial anger he fell in love with Dixie.
2006 After Gidgets death it took us a few years to want another puppy. We found a breeder with a litter of Yorkie's. While deciding which puppy to take, "Chloe" bit Megan on the bum. She was the one!!! Chloe thinks that she is a squirrel- she is not happy unless she is outside climbing trees and chases squirrels.

We didn't get our first digital camera till Christmas 2002 and I haven't scanned a lot of early pictures of Megan and Dillon so we are skipping ahead in time.
